M-Cyber Shaker Officially Begins Service at Shanghai First Foodhall | Motion Brain Partners with Bright Commercial Supply Chain to Explore New Frontiers in Robotic Services

On September 30, the newly renovated beverage and spirits section at Shanghai First Foodhall's Nanjing East Road Flagship Store, a landmark that holds generations of culinary memories for Shanghai residents, officially reopened.

At the newly upgraded bar counter, a special "new employee" attracted the attention of many visitors. Motion Brain's M-Cyber Shaker robotic bartender, operating under the name "Bartender Xiaoyi" for Bright Commercial Supply Chain, officially began its service.

Going forward, the robot will not only prepare freshly mixed cocktails for customers but also introduce a new dimension to the retail experience through engaging, personalized voice interactions.

01. Behind the Bar: A New Partnership for Experiential Retail

The renovation of the beverage and spirits section at Shanghai First Foodhall's Nanjing East Road Flagship Store provides a representative example of the collaboration between Motion Brain and Bright Commercial Supply Chain.

One partner brings established retail spaces and extensive experience in consumer services, while the other contributes advanced robotic capabilities in environmental perception, manipulation, and human-robot interaction. By bringing these strengths together at a single bar counter, the two companies are opening up new possibilities for robotics in commercial service environments.

To ensure seamless integration into the existing retail environment, Motion Brain carried out a 1:1 adaptation of the original bar counter, replicating its layout, material placement, and operating height.

With an exceptionally compact design, the robot occupies less than 0.25 square meters of floor space at its base. It can be deployed quickly without structural modifications to the existing venue. Its ingredient racks also mirror those used by human bartenders, allowing staff to replenish beverages and supplies conveniently.

This truly plug-and-play approach significantly reduces the cost and complexity of adapting robotic systems to real-world retail environments.

Powered by natural language processing (NLP) and emotion recognition capabilities, the robot can identify customers' emotional states and adjust its dialogue and interaction patterns accordingly.

Instead of simply waiting for their drinks, customers can engage in an interactive experience that combines functional service with personalized emotional engagement.

Building on this initial deployment, Motion Brain and Bright Commercial Supply Chain will continue exploring opportunities to introduce robotic services into similar retail environments. For other business formats, the company will develop tailored robotic solutions based on specific operational needs.

Beyond Bright Commercial Supply Chain's retail network, bars, pop-up stores, coffee and tea shops, and cultural and tourism venues also represent promising new application areas for M-Cyber Shaker.

02. Precision Through Dual-Arm Coordination: Turning Technology into a Perfectly Mixed Drink

Equipped with dual robotic arms featuring 14 degrees of freedom and dexterous hands, M-Cyber Shaker can accurately identify cups and beverage ingredients on the counter, adjust the movement trajectories of both arms in real time, and smoothly execute the complete drink preparation process.

Behind these coordinated movements lies the company's Motion Brain generative general-purpose embodied AI architecture, which provides the core intelligence powering the robotic system.

HL3DWM: Environmental Perception

Enables real-time identification of ingredient positions, cup states, and obstacles within the operating environment, achieving a recognition accuracy of over 99.5%.

World Motion Model: Dual-Arm Motion Trajectory Planning

Uses AI algorithms to optimize the trajectories of both robotic arms in real time, effectively preventing motion interference and achieving a trajectory planning response time of 30 milliseconds or less.

MADTP: Lightweight On-Device Model Deployment

Optimizes the core control model for lightweight deployment, reducing memory usage by 60% and shortening startup time to under 30 seconds.

Beyond smooth and coordinated movements, precise ingredient measurement is equally essential to preparing a consistently high-quality drink.

M-Cyber Shaker features a built-in recipe library covering classic cocktails such as Highballs and Gin & Tonics. Through visual recognition and real-time computation, the robot precisely controls ingredient quantities, maintaining a measurement error within ±1 milliliter.

This level of precision is designed to deliver consistent flavor and quality in every drink served.

03. Where Emotional Value Meets Automation: A Glimpse into the Future of Smart Retail

As consumers place increasing importance on experiences and interactions during their purchasing journeys, physical retail spaces are also exploring new approaches to service delivery.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, service retail sales increased by 5.0% year-on-year from January to July 2026, outpacing the growth of goods retail sales by 3.9 percentage points.

Consumer priorities are gradually shifting from simply purchasing products toward enjoying services and valuing experiences.

Similarly, Deloitte's 2026 Economic and Industry Outlook highlights how emotional value, enhanced consumer experiences, and the expansion of service consumption are continuing to generate new market demand.

This shift is also prompting traditional service sectors, including food and beverage, to reconsider the relationships between people, physical spaces, and service experiences.

In its report, Reshaping and Growth: Ten Frontier Trends in Service Consumption for China's 15th Five-Year Plan, KPMG China notes that consumer purchasing decisions are evolving beyond basic functional needs toward multidimensional expectations, including emotional well-being, health improvement, and immersive experiences.

At the same time, AI-powered consumption is accelerating, with the deeper integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies emerging as a powerful driver of service consumption growth.

These developments are creating new opportunities for robotics.

As robots enter open commercial environments such as restaurants and retail stores, robotic bartending involves far more than automated drink preparation. It requires a continuous sequence of operations, including picking up cups, pouring ingredients, mixing beverages, and serving finished drinks.

At the same time, customers can directly observe and engage with the robot throughout the process.

Robots are therefore becoming more than tools for automated productivity. They are also emerging as an engaging element of the commercial service experience.

As embodied intelligence expands from industrial manufacturing into commercial services, it is increasingly finding applications across the real world.

Although application scenarios differ, the fundamental requirements for robotic intelligence are becoming increasingly consistent: the ability to autonomously perceive, understand, and execute complex sequences of tasks in open, dynamic environments.

For Motion Brain, the deployment of M-Cyber Shaker at Shanghai First Foodhall's Nanjing East Road Flagship Store represents an important step in bringing its generative embodied AI technology into real-world commercial service environments.

As embodied intelligence enters more spaces characterized by frequent human-robot interaction, enabling robots to adapt to complex environments, perform diverse tasks, and continuously expand their capabilities across different scenarios will be essential to achieving scalable commercial adoption.
